Gmail to Google Workspace - Migration Requirements

By providing the necessary information, you're ensuring a seamless transition that optimizes your workflow and productivity. Let's dive into what we need to make this migration a success.

1. Gmail Credentials (Required)

• We will need your Gmail email address and password to seamlessly migrate your email, calendar and contacts from Gmail to Google Workspace.
• These credentials would be used in our migration system to programatically fetch data from Gmail and ingest it to Google Workspace.
• We would also recommend you to read our “Why password is needed” post where we explain the rationale behind this requirement in details.

2. Google Workspace Super Admin Credentials (Required)

• At the time of initial Google Workspace sign up, Google asks for your business information and your credit card details. Neither you nor us would prefer to exchange credit card details.

• As shown in our sign up guide, during the sign up you will create your first Google Workspace user, this user by default becomes Google Workspace Super Admin. You would need to share this user’s credentials with us.

3. Payment (Required)

• We need advance payment to deploy our expert resources in your Gmail to Google Workspace migration.
• You can use any of your credit or debit card to easily make paymnt online as we are partnered with Stripe for secure digital payments.

4. DNS Credentials (Optional)

• We need to make changes to your Domain Name System (DNS) so new emails can begin arriving in your Google Workspace mailbox.
• We also create a few records in your DNS (e.g SPF, DKIM etc) which will increase your email deliverability and secured against email forging.
• Sharing your DNS credentials with us is optional, We can send you instuctions if you prefer to make DNS changes yourself, or share its credentials and we would be happy to do that for you.
• If you use domain name registrar like Godaddy, you can also delegate your DNS to Googally instead of sharing its credentials.

5. Business Logo (Optional)

• By default, Google’s logo would be shown in Google Workspace applications like Gmail, Google Drive etc.
• We can setup your logo in Google Workspace to provide you (and your team) a personalized experience. Your logo would be shown in workspace apps once we complete this step.
• If you do not have logo or don’t have it in the specific format/size at this time, you may do it yourself later too. We have step by step instructions for this in our blog.
• Google has specific file type and size requirements for business logo, Please send us the logo in following specification.

Google Workspace Business Logo Requirements

• PNG or GIF format
• Maximum file size: 30KB
• Maximum dimensions: 320 x 132 pixels
