Migrate Contacts from Gmail.com to Google Workspace

If you're transitioning from a personal Gmail account to a Google Workspace account for your business, you'll want to ensure your contacts come along for the ride. Here's a guide on how to migrate all your contacts from Gmail.com to Google Workspace:

1. Export Your Gmail Contacts‍

• Go to contacts.google.com and login with your @gmail.com user id and password.
• Click on the export icon as shown in the screenshot below

• Once you click export, a pop up will appear where you should choose export as Google CSV.
• Save the csv file on your computer (we'll need it later when importing to Google Workspace contacts).

2. Import Your Contacts into Google Workspace

• Go to contacts.google.com and login with your Google Workspace email (e.g user@domain.com) and password.
• In the left hand navigation, click on the Import link as shown in the screenshot below.

• Select the .csv file you exported in step 1, and click on Import.
• Optional, you may also choose a specific label in which you want to import these contacts (e.g Vendors).

• Your contacts will now be imported into your Google Workspace account.

Important Notes

• Duplicates: If you have any duplicate contacts, Google Workspace will usually detect and merge them during the import process.
• Other Contact Sources: If you have contacts stored in other locations (e.g., your phone, other email accounts), you'll need to export and import them separately into Google Workspace.
